We’re back and in full effect after a busy November break here at Whim + Whistle and, oh my, how we’ve missed it all! The studio is buzzing with holiday orders and album construction but we wanted to take a moment to say hello and wish everyone well before we start to get caught up on blogging some of our recent sessions, both studio and day in the life
We were excited to set up what we like to call our ‘lemonade stand’ at Toronto’s Babytime show earlier this month!
We were honoured to connect personally with so many expecting mamas + growing families while revealing our heart-on-our-sleeve 2012 collections. The cuteness was overwhelming – so many sweet little ones stopping by not to mention so many “graduates” – a few babies you’ve seen here on the blog coming by to show how much they’ve grown. Have we mentioned lately how much we *love* what we do?!
The show coincided with some exciting news in the studio… Our very own Kimberly Dunbar was named one of Toronto’s top portrait photographers for 2011 by TorontoMomNow.com!
I don’t know where to begin; I couldn’t be prouder of my dear best friend for all her accomplishments in her photography career
Knowing her process both in-session and behind the scenes, I can personally attest to the tenacity, talent and genuine pure of heart passion for her craft + the families she meets through it this amazing woman embodies. Couple that with the big, sweet love, comedic charm (seriously, she’s hilarious) she extends to family + friends… She’s one to know, this one
And, I mean, is it any wonder how she gets those amazing images? She’ll hide under towels on a paddle boat mid-lake to get splash shots during our day-in-the-life cottage sessions in the Muskokas…
She’ll twirl in fields, inspiring adults and kids alike to let loose, find the fun and join in…
She’ll perch in corridors waiting for the perfect shot… She’ll even jump on on the family bed, explaining with a laugh to pretend she does that every day and, not to worry, her feet are clean
Top photographer, indeed
Happy weekend, everyone!
Hug those you love + we’ll chat soon!

Such a sweet post! I only wish we lived closer — I’d hire you guys in a heartbeat!
Love the lemonade stand and so thrilled for Kim but not surprised. She is amazing and so are you! Congrats! I can’t wait to see what the two of you accomplish and what beautiful work your produce in 2012.
